04 polaris suspension question

I'm looking at a 04 xc sc 600 polaris tomorrow. It's been ten years since I was riding a lot and have paid no attention to the sport since then. How do I know if the shocks on a 04 are bad, or need to be rebuilt? The sled has 2700 miles on it. Any imput would be much appreciated.

Might be tough to tell unless they're off the machine but as a rule the shocks should at least have the oil changed and be re-charged every 2K or so depending on how the sled is riden. The more aggressively it's riden the more often they should be re-built. Most cross country racers for eg. will rebuild them after every race, some people run 5k and never re-build them. Just a matter of how particular you are about having your sled ride the way it was designed to. Awesome sled though!! I had a new 600 XCSP in 2001 and absolutly loved it! If you need a reference on a good shock guy let me know and I'll put you in touch.
