NCLaker
Hoping someone can help me with some insite. I am looking to buy a second hand Throne Brother musky rod that was made with a Fisher blank. I understand that they are not made any more.Any insite of what is a comparible rod blank on current Thorne Bros rods? Any comments about the blanks performance & quality? It is being sold as and used for my primary WTD/jerk baits. Not sure if I will go with the 6'5" or 7'.Thanks! rodmaker
Talk to Lonnie, or Pat at Thorne Bros. They will be honest with you.
Heartman
A Fisher blank is a good blank. Jim's Bait in DUluth used to stock many Fisher blanks, although most of what we saw were 2 pc fly rods, graphite. I have seen some Fisher glass blanks though, and they looked good too. If the price is decent, or if they give you some kind of warranty if the price is jacked up, I'd say move on it with confidence.
