Swamp Scooter
Anyone head up to Northern WI aroun Brule / Iron river. I just got a lake cabin up outside of Iron river and was wondering on the ice fishing success. I see some people fishing while driving up deer hunting but would love any pointers for winter or summer spots to take the wife. I know the Pike Chain is there but when I checked the regs you can only keep 1 eye under 14 or 15" Not a very appealing item to attract me to fish for them. Any trout spots through the ice? I fish the Brule for Steelhead in the Spring but wanted to know if there was anything else I should hit. [email protected] if you do not want to give it up to everyone. dan in webster
check your trout regs. most trout water closes in september. a few are open all year, but very few. a catch and release artificial lure season usually starts early march.------------------Dan in WebsterCampion Log Works
Smeds
I'm pretty sure the Pike Chain has a one under and one over 14" limit still, that's two walleyes. The Perch fishing is usually good in Busky Bay too. Good luck!
JAR JAR
Swamp, Your best bet for trout this time of year is Chequamagon bay near Washburn. Watch your ice conditions though. I know of a guy that went through on his snowmobile last week off of Houghton point. I would be careful of any ice from the "coal docks" north.Jar Jar
