filter for mr buddy

do i need the filter. I just got the hose for christmas. What does the filter take out? Rust? Do they get plugged?

I don't know if you Need one or not, but they are under ten dollars so for me I figure better with it than without it.

A filter is recommended for the unregulated hoses (I never used one). The filter catches the contaminates that are squeezed out of the hose.

This is my second year with my big buddy & 20# with the 12 foot hose and no filter.Its never given me any problems.I am always carefull to not get any dirt or snow in the end.
