I have heard about the springs out of bic lighters. So I tried it, and I personally think it's the best spring I've ever come across simply due to the sensitivity. Ice up comes with all springs, I don't ever find that to be a real concern. I have pics at home that I can put after I'm off work. I've been using spring bobber rods for panfish for over 10years, there isn't one I haven't tried out.
