We have had a cabin on the Minong Flowage for about 10 years. We are on the west side of the main lake by across from the smaller of the two islands. I would like to catch some walleyes, crappies, blue gills, northerns, I don't care I just want to catch something from this lake.

It must be me, but I just have had bad luck on this lake.

I am going up there for new years to try ice fishing again. Last year I saw a bunch of people by the boat launch in saw dust pile bay. I tried there and I got one very small pike. I thought this year I would walk up to the stump bay on the northeast side of the big island there. In all of the years, ice and summer fishing I have only caugth one crappie. Sometimes off out dock I get some blue gills and some very small walleye, nothing legal yet.

I'm happy to hear someone has caught some fish from that lake. I know lakes take a while to learn, but 10 years. The trouble is I get frustrated and just go to a different lake. I would like to learn how to catch fish from my lake.

You don't have to give me your spots but if you could point me in the general direction I would be forever grateful.

p.s. I saw these guys fishing by the saw dust pile last year using tip ups right at sun down. My guess is they were fishing for walleye. My question is, were they using shinners, fatheads, or those small suckers they sell at the corner store?
