Team Wild Portables

I got the 3-man last year and I couldn't be happier with it. The unit is made by Otter and there is a difference in the weight of the fabric. I think someone said in an earlier post that the Otters are 900 and the Wild ones are 600. I know that mine keeps me plenty warm with my Big Buddy heater. I fished out of it last year one day that it was -10 below and around -35 windchill and I didn't get cold one bit (until I had to go outside to pack-up). If you do an advanced search for TEAM WILD, there were earlier discussions about the packages. I think for the money it is a solid purchase.

I have a Team Wild 3 that I purchased last year. I am now in the process on Pimping it out, putting in carpet, doors, swivel seats, etc. I personally don't care for the bench seat. The frame for it is heavy metal tubing. The weight of that is the same as all the 2x2's,plywood,carpet and seats I put in it now. I can still lift it into the back of my truck. The house itself is great. I wouldn't buy anything else.

I'm not happy with the new otters. The old ones used to be great when they had the circular tubing and good canvas. Now they have the square tubing and cheap windows/canvas. I just sold my otter den and got a fish trap pro and love it. I do have an older cabin I'm keeping though. It is a great 2 man set up.

The only difference in the lighter fabric, 600 verses 900 is a little durability. The skirt may rip a little easier if you have put snow or slush on it to seal yourself in,so be careful with that. The same thing can happen with the heavier fabric though. If you take proper care it should last for years,a friend of mine has a 2 man and loves it.I would buy one if I needed another shack,I really like that bench they have.

They have a different style sled as the otter. They have more of a drop down in between the rear and the front on sides, to let you have more room for the bench or chairs.

I put some miles on my Team Wild this weekend and it worked out great wink

As some may have seen, I had a mod'ed sled with very nice individual seats in it last year. I have to say I love the bench seat way better:

You can literally kick back and be relaxed. I all most caught my self falling a sleep during the Vikes game and after the lunch my partner prepared for the day grin

A little example:

I could of taken a nap, very easy grin! Butt!! Fishing had to be done wink.

All in all, it was a great day and the Team Wild made it as such! We moved about 4 times (very easy), caught some perch and loved the style windows the Team Wild has (Velcro pull down). Set-up and take down is very quick.

I was a round pole type guy, but the Team Wild has turned me into a square pole guy now. I found no more issues with the square pole, verses the round. Plus for set up, they are spring loaded wink.

By weeks end, we will put some more miles on her wink

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
