advice on sonar

Hey guys,

anyone use the Lowrance 522c for ice fishing? It's supposed to be able to operate in the winter as a flasher and then in the summer on your boat as a regular sonar unit. It also has gps capabilities. Any advice one way or another is greatly appreciated!

Doop,

I would get the 522, but I would use it in graph mode not flasher.

I have a 337 that I converted last winter and like the idea of having the history on the display. I also have a vex fl 8se, and find myself using the 337 more then the vex, I'll use the vex when I bring the GF along, she has not learned how to read the flasher yet.

You won't regret going with the 522, and make sure you get a map chip for it, Lakemaster is the easier of the two to use, I have both the navionics and lakemaster chips, LM zooms closer then nav.

Can you use the 522c with other depth finders in the same house? I use an old lcf-40 flasher and can't run it in the same shack with an old fl8 due to interference. The newer flashers have setting that allow multiple units to be used without interference.

Thanks,
