Otter Cabin II Set Up Question

AJ

Question

I bought an older Otter Cabin II from a guy who didn't have it set up right.

On the older style, how am I supposed to keep the canvas high on the sled so that it does not slip down? Particularly on the corners or on the front of the sled (where the canvas really wants to slip down due to the shock cord hem. The shock cord and S hook is all in good repair.

I have an older den that I set up 6 years ago (up north now) and I can't remember how the shock cord hem was held up. Some sort of hook that bolted, I think. This is before they started using the current system (improved) of a plastic seam/clip mechanism that is sewn to the canvas and then just "clips" to the side of the sled. On the old style, I seem to remember some hardware that basically grabbed the canvas and kept it from sliding down. Bolted through the sled. Almost like an eye-bolt? Anyone have an older Cabin they can look and tell me what to do before I make up my own solution that is stupid-er (wink). Thanks in advance.

AJ on my Otter lodge there is 2 bolts/fasteners on the front and rear that keep the cord in place. It sounds like it was never set up right and I would guess he threw out the nut and special bolt that is sort of a hook on one end and threaded on the other but no matter what you will have to search out a good hardware store or give Otter a call and see if they still carry them.

I would call otter and ask if they still carry the part. I've never had a customer service problem they couldn't fix.

Even if they charged you for the parts, it won't be much....I say that cause there service is top notch and I've known them to send out parts for free.

Give them a call and I'm sure they will fix you right up.
