Nugget Lake

Recommended Posts

Any one fish Nugget lake recently(by Plum City)? Haven't been on it for a couple seasons now and I am contemplating a return visit. Caught my personal best largemouth out of there.

Also, I have heard about late season walleye action there belivee it or not. HArd to fish out of a canoe, but maybe with my boat and trolling motor it might be a tad more feaseable?
Anyone have consistent success with the walleyes? I have picked a few up here and there throwing cranks(for bass) along the weedline near the dam on the right side(as you face it).

Thanks much!!!

Keep the rods bendin'!!

Jim, I've never fished Nugget myself. After doing a little checking on this lake I'm thinking Nugget may deserve a closer look! Being small(116 acres) it looks pretty easy to cover. And the few reports I have seen sounds as though there are some very respectable fish, mainly bass and walleye. The state has stocked walleye here, a little over 5000 fingerling in I believe 1999 and 2001. I would assume there has been some done prior to that also. The fingerlings though few, have a greater chance of survival due to size. The dam and water flow that runs through Nugget must make for some decent water quality, I'm thinking. Jim or anyone else that fishes Nugget, please let us know how the outing went. I personaly am curious about this one! can it be luck?
