dabber
Hey Picked off a Red Fox tonite with my muzzleloader. Had not skinned a varmit for over 30 years. Didn't make to many holes in the Fur. Anyway, just want to eventually hang it in the shack. Have it laid out-what should I put on the skin to dry it out? I know when we do Turkey mounts we use Baking Soda & let it sit in the garage rafters for several months. Or will it stink forever? Also--what about the bone in the tail--will that dry out? Leave it in?

Powerstroke
Use borax or pickling salt to dry it out. You should split pull the bone out of the tail. Not that hard to do yourself. I did my own turkey fan with the borax and it only took a couple weeks till ready.
