Self Portrait, well kind of.

Recommended Posts

I took this "self portrait back in late October. i want to see if I can get the distance half way right in order to focus the shot. As you can it turned out fairly reasonible considering I took the shot off the tripod and used the timer.

Actual sixe of the walleye....29 inch's....released to thrill someone else, some other time! wink

I did have to crop the photo as it was exactly centered.

Nice fish and picture. I am guessing by the color it's a prairie lake....maybe the Dakota's?

I know how challenging those self-portraits can be...especially in the boat with a little wind! I usually try to shoot towards the transom so that I can use the outboard as a reference. The problem with that is the outboard is in the picture. I like your background better!

Thanks! Actually the location is Traverse Bay, which is located just beyond the mouth of the Winnipeg River.

As for the boat. In my case, the job of seting up a tripod for a self-portrait isn't difficult. My fishing boat is a 24' Tri-toon, very large and very stable. There's enough room to set up a 1/2 dozen tripods! grin
