smoked crappies

New to the smoking world and looking for a good recipe for smoking crappies. From the brine to smoking times and temps. skin on or off. Any help would be great. Thanks

I've never smoked crappies. I've tried a lot of fish and settled on just smoking trout and the occasional other species.

I'd smoke them whole, skin on. They are so thin that a brining time of 45 mins to an hour should be ok. Check out http://www.3men.com/threemen1.htm they are pretty good at explaining what you want to do

My grandfather used to smoke crappies, he left them whole and would somehow use his Weber grill for smoking, all I know is they were awesome!

A Weber is essentially a smoker, all you need is a heat and a smoke source and some way to contain it. So a cover on a weber grill does the trick just fine
