They change out something that is all I know it changes the colors from red, orange, yellow, to red,green, and yellow. When I had my LX 3 it I felt the orange tended to blend together too much with the other two colors as did many others. You do get used to it but the Red,green, yellow is much clearer to the eye at least for me it is.

how old is this model and how many watts of power does this unit have. i believe the new ones have 2000 is that correct

The unit must be more than a year old but it has not been used.. It has 1500 watts of power.. It works perfectly..
