Upside down suet feeder

I stole this feeder design from a bird shop in Iowa City, and it works very good to get the food to the desirable birds.

I also save the grease from ground beef to make suet using, 1# grease with 1cup chunky peanut butter, 1 cup quaker oats, 1cup corn meal, and 1 cup mixed bird seed. All woodpeckers, nuthatches, and chickadee's have no problem finding them, and prefer it over store bought suet.

Great design, mic. I used to make my own suet, too, though I've not spent the time to do it the last several years. I always had better luck with my own blend than the store-bought stuff, too. Ours doesn't need preservatives, you see.
