Refinishing countertops

Has anyone ever refinished their countertops using the new process out there that can make your regular countertops look like stone/marble? I've found a couple of manufacturers but it doesn't seem like any of them sell retail.

patti, the prouduct you are looking for is called spread stone or spread rock. Hirshfields in edina carries it.I did A class on it last winter, seem's to be fairly durable,although I would'nt do any cutting or set anything hot on it.

thanks ike! I'll look there...I wonder if the process done by professionals is more durable...or maybe other products?
