lawdog
Maybe I missed it in the book, but I didn't see how to reset the change oil light in these cars? Is this a turn the key on and push the gas peddle three times deal????Thanks.Jeff
Jeremy airjer W
there is a fuse box on the drivers side of the dash between the dash and the door. There will be a red reset button. Turn the key on (do not start) and press the button one time. The oil change light will flash (or maint. required or whatever it is). Push and hold the red button until you hear the audible beeps stop. Its in the manual under oil life monitor or sometimes you will have to go to the warning lights page. I don't remember specifically.Page 6-19 of your owners manualQuote:How to Reset the Change Oil LightThe GM Oil Life System calculates when to changeyour engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. Anytimeyour oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculatewhen the next oil change is required. If a situationoccurs where you change your oil prior to a CHANGEOIL light being turned on, reset the system. After changing the engine oil, the system must be reset. To reset the oil life indicator, do the following steps:1. With the ignition key in ON (a short timeafter turning off the engine), press the RESETbutton located in the driver’s side instrumentpanel fuse block.2. When the CHANGE OIL light starts to flash, pressand hold the RESET button again. The reset is complete when you hear the chimes and theCHANGE OIL light goes out. zamboni
Isn't the Grand Am one that you can turn key to ACCESORY, pump gas 3 times, then start it?? I thought that was a standard on most GMS
