Between the Yamaha 130hp 2 stroke and Mercury 125 2 stroke, which would be the better motor?? In terms of performance, power, and reliability.

That Yammi can't be any worse than the Merc. I would lean to the Yammi, but why not upgrade to the 4 stroke and get yourself a really nice motor!

In the two strokes..... No question in my mind: YAMAHA!!! I also agree with Grabs. Check out the Yamaha four strokers too. Smooth, quiet and clean. You'll be glad you did.

Over the years I have sold Yamaha, Honda, Merc, Johnson and Evinrude O/B's. After seeing 1000's of O/B's go out the door and also seeing what comes back in and what for. If I was spending my money I would buy a Yamaha, If I was spending your money I would still get a Yamaha, If I won some other brand I would sell it and buy a Yamaha. This is in regards to 2 strokes. As far as 4 strokes go Hondas quality and reliability is second to none period. But in the 4 strokes the Yamahas will outperform the Hondas as far as acelleration and topend on any boat anytime, anywhere!!!!!!
