Taxidermy Question

Hello All:

I had a quick question, how long can a specimen be sitting in cold storage before it can't be mounted anymore? Does sitting in storage degrade the specimen? I'd like to get a fish mounted but its been sitting for a while. Thanks!

As long as it's in a freezer and is wrapped good it should be no problem. My taxidermist has had fish of mine for years.

Yea, my brother does taxidermy and he has had some of ours froze for awhile that still worked well.

I know of someone who froze a crappie for 7 years before it got mounted, looks very good.
