Guest
I only seen the last quarter, but the best part I saw was the AOL commercials with Paul, Paul Jr and Mikey. ------------------en kala(I fish)
Farley
Yeah, those commercials were the best. That was a great game, glad Carolina at least beat the spread, I wonder how many people lost on the over under though.
can it be luck?
I just read an article in MSN stateing thier apologies for Justin Timberwolf ripping off Janet's freaky looking Star Wars breast plate, exposeing her lunar mounds! I think it was all planned. One, to get back at Brittney, and two, to be weirder than her brother "the Jacko". Well, first it's "the Jacko" now it's "the Wacko"! Justin Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Janet Jackson's breast during the halftime show....PS: Not bad looking though! ------------------http://groups.msn.com/canitbeluck [This message has been edited by can it be luck? can it be luck?
Farley, my buddy was in heavan for the first 27 minutes. He put a "grand daddy" on the under at 37 1/2. He was darn near crying like a baby when the points started to roll up! I made out like a bandit. $1000 on the Panthers plus 7 and $500 on the over at 37 1/2. Also parlayed the panthers and the over for $200, which payed me 2.6-1...Grand total $2020.00!!! I'm takeing the week off for fishing! Can't wait till March Madness! ------------------http://groups.msn.com/canitbeluck
Farley
Nice job, I thought that 37.5 was low especially for a super bowl, but everyone figured it would be a defensive battle with little points. My roomate is out in Vegas and almost called him to put money on the Cats to beat the spread but decided not to since my luck has been pretty bad in gambling latley (Hold em'). I figured Vegas had it fixed because everyone would take Carolina to beat the 7 point spread. So I put some money on the spread (Cats) with a buddy and took the cats to win also. Ended up comming out even.
DARK30
Janet's little stunt is one thing but that Kid Rock one-who-thinks-I-am-silly and the Flag was another. Zaraspooks
Kid Rock cut a hole in the center of an American Flag and wore it as a poncho. Isn't there a law about defacing the American Flag? The Spook
iffwalleyes
If there is a law against defacing a flag how come isn't flag burning illegal. I agree not right, but who know with the designers them stars have it was probably made like that and not cut.------------------Grip it and Rip itIFFWalleyesI Fish For Walleyes[email protected]
Farley
I think he was just showing his patroitism, not doing it in protest. Big deal.
Gus
No proof here, but I heard on the radio that they sell the US flag ponchos at the Gap stores. So it is possible that it was not a real flag.
Ice9
Of course it was a real flag--that's the problem. Put the right shapes and colors on it and you have a flag. I'm as patriotic as the next guy but it's tough to tell when somebody's insulting you and when they're just making a stupid fashion statement.I say it's the freedom, and not the flag. In his case it's the freedom to lip-sync bad music with your back to half your audience while making a highly ambiguous political statement to an audience that's taking a leak. The real disappointment was missing the true entertainment: the streaker and 50% of Janet's canteloupe collection. I missed the first half to catch a couple of walleyes; a buddy caught a 25-incher. That's worth a half of football with more punts than points.ice

Farley
"In his case it's the freedom to lip-sync bad music with your back to half your audience while making a highly ambiguous political statement to an audience that's taking a leak." I missed the highly ambiguous politacal statement in his performance. What was it??I've been to a Kid-Rock concert and it was a pretty good show, he covers many old classics from Allman Bros, Skynard, Marshall Tucker Band, etc.., I guess I'm not offended because I think he is more American (patriotic might be a better term) than most musicians these days (you'll never see him driving a Toyota, or drinking a Guiness, not that it makes you un-american to do so). By the way, his mic was on, the DJ had the song playing in the background, he did sing most (not all) of the song(s), unlike the "pop music" portion of the show. P Diddy should be shot. DARK30
I know a lot of people don't understand anymore but..... Handling the American FlagThe display of our American Flag is governed by law to ensure that it will be treated with the respect due the flag of a great nation. This is known as the Flag Code. Some of the rules are:The American Flag should be placed in the center, and higher, when displayed with a group of state, local, or organizational flags flown from staffs. It may also be positioned to the right of other flags (if you were to hold the flag while facing your audience, your right side would be the flag's own right)."When displayed from a staff in a church or public auditorium, the flag of the United States of America should hold the position of superior prominence, in advance of the audience, and in the position of honor at the clergyman's or speaker's right as he faces the audience. Any other flag so displayed should be placed on the left of the clergyman or speaker or to the right of the audience." *The flag should be hoisted briskly and lowered slowly with dignity. The flag should never be allowed to touch anything beneath it, nor should it every be carried flat or horizontally — always aloft and free.Never use the flag as a cover or place anything on top of it.No disrespect of any kind should be shown to the flag of the United States. It should be kept clean. The flag, when carried in a procession with other flags, should be either on the marching right or, if there is a line of other flags, in front of the center of that line. When you display the flag on a wall or in a window where people see it from the street, it should be displayed flat with the blue part at the top and on the flag's own right (which is the observer's left). When displayed after dark, the flag should be illuminated. For answers to additional questions and the latest revisions, refer to the American Legion section on the care and handling of the American Flag. ------------------cast,cast,cast,cast...... Farley
Yes, I agree, the flag should always be displayed with the utmost respect. I just don't think he meant any disrespect by wearing it. I don't think he was trying to make a political statement by wearing it either. The only statement he made, the way I saw it, is he's proud to be American. Either way, I think it's a matter of opinion. Three words: American flag bikinis. Who's complaining about that?
