1992 20 HP Merc. Value

I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough value of this motor?

It has ran well for me for the last ten years , but then left me stranded on the Croix a couple weeks ago.

I have since picked up a Yamaha 25 2 stroke and so far like it alot.

My transom is toast and needs to be fixed and the guy who has my Merc. tells me he will rebuild my transom and rewire my boat trailer for an even trade on the merc.

I like the idea, but do not want to take it in the shorts on such a deal.

I called a place in Princton who rebuilds boats and they quoted me at around 700.00 to fix the transom on my 14' aluminum boat.

I was shocked at the price, but am now considering the trade.

Just looking for some opinion's on what some of you would do.

no, nada is a site that has boat and motor pricing, from which you can pick your year and model and go from there. use google to find "nada" HSOforum and follow the directions on the site that you end up on.

If he does a fabulous job on your transom you gotta deal, depednds on the quality of work performed . most 20-25hp motors are selling for $500-650
