Yellow-bellied Sapsucker & Gold Finch...

I haven't seen a Sapsucker this spring, that is until yesterday! Plus this little male Gold Finch was fairly cooperative too.

Tough luck on the lighting for the goldfinch, Stu. Darn sun. It's a great pose, though, and I really like the lookback.

Something tells me that sapsucker has been on that tree trunk (or power pole?) a few times before.

I agree with the lighting Steve. The sun is tough on yellow colored subjects, especially if the subject is directly in the sun. To add to this, that photo was taken after 8:00PM yesterday, the sun isn't really that strong aand yet it still takes its toll.

Here's another one shot during the same sequence. The finch is not in direct light making it a little softer and more camera friendly.
