Iceburyman
I would love to know what has worked best overall through the ice for walleye in MN lakes - live bait minnow rigs or the minnow head/ tail and jigging spoon setup. Also, what has caught the big ones 25-28in plus more consistently.
Northlander
Tough one to answer. They all work sometimes.
davemeyer
I would have to say it varies fish to fish, when using my aqua vu I noticed that we were fishing with three lively shinners and one dead. I saw a walleye looking around at all the baits, I thought for sure he would take one of the live shinners over the dead one but i was wrong. I think that maybe the super non-agressive fish like the dead bait, but consitently I would say live bait works better.
Azenmstr
The beautiful thing about ice fishing is you can present both simultaneously. I honestly believe each one is effective and a debate about which is better is fruitless. Let the fish tell you.A ZEN MASTER
