LOWRANCE INTERNAL ANTENNA GPS

I have a lowrance globalmap gps with internal antenna that keeps loosing lock on satellites. Wandering if anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this problem. I have a lowrance h2o that I have put right next to the global map, and it has no problem staying locked on. so I do not think mounting is an issue. I have looked at some info on re-radiating antennas. has anybody had any experience with them? I have been trying to contact Lowrance,(by phone and e-mail) but if any of you have tried to do this, you know how futile that is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first guess is that the antennae is not getting a strong signal from the satellites. You should first try to tilt the back of the unit towrds the sky and then see what happens. If it locks on and stays locked that is the issue.

Ours will randomly lose it's position and get it back within 10 seconds, but it doesn't happen too often.

The thing I did notice after being on my cousin's boat last night, was that our GPS finds itself initially a lot slower. We have an internal antennae too, as he had a receiver mounted on his boat.

If you find anything out, I would be interested. It'd be nice not to ever have to wait for that thing anymore, because it's really my only complaint about it.

I've got the 334Cigps (internal antenna) and mine would have problems locking or finding satellites. Then i got the software update from the HSOforum and installed.

The last thing i did was to turn off WAS and now i have no more problems.

I recommend installing the update. I did this 4 weeks back and haven't been losing bottom or GPS signal much, although occasionally it does happen in thick weeds.

I would make sure the unit is not blocked by a windshield on a counsel or something else that could possibly be blocking the signal. I have had very good luck with mine with never having any issues.
