If you're anywhere near the 7 county metro area, I'd check with your local PD or County Sheriff to see if it's legal to discharge a bow.

Check page 53 of the current regulations - I just did it on-line. THere is a list of lakes where it is prohibited so check before you head out. I have read in a number of forums that local cities have different regs about discharging a bow, but I don't know of a good place to check that out. Maybe going to the web site of the city that controls the part of the lake you're planning on going to could stear you in the right direction. Asking a CO won't work cause they don't know the local regs, and neither do most cops. Check first so you won't have to pay later.
