Two summers ago when Mille Lacs was hot, I caught the tail end of the bite. I got my personal best, a 30 1/4 inch walleye that weighted 7 pounds 10 ounces. My buddy caught his personal best at 28 1/4 but I don't remember how much that weighed but it was thin also. A couple of weeks before ice on Minnetonka this fall, I caught a 25 1/2 incher that weighed 6 1/2 pounds. They grow plump in that lake.

I caught one two years back at Mille Lacs that was 27 inches and it went 3'11 on my digital scale. It was sickly skinny!!
