WCT
My only problem with a speed limit on the ice would be that the people who would obey it are not the ones causing the problems. It is an old old story, a relative few spoiling things for the many and I sure don't have the answer(s). Ol Sneller
solofisherman
Unfortunatly there are idiots on and off the ice and we have to share the ice with them. That is why I try to stay away from the more popular lakes.
saddie
I am so sick of people complaining about people driving on the ice! If there is 12" or more of good ice there is no reason not to drive on it.If you chose not to drive out, fine, but do not cut down others who do. I'm sure some of you drive on the lakes in the summer in your boats with gas powered outboard motors, how would you like it if the D.N.R. restricted your favorite lake to paddle or wind power only? As for requiring a permit to drive in a lake, minnesota is now one of the most regulated and over-taxed states in the nation, do we need to pay more?
