White-tips
7 years of use and finally a problem with my Zercom Colorpoint. Reads bottom just fine but doesn't have the sensitivity to read any size of lure in water deeper than 12 feet. For those of you who had a Zercom unit go bad, was it your powerhead or the transducer that failed and what were the symptoms? Also, does anyone have a transducer for a Colorpoint that they would be willing to sell or know where a person could find one getting dusty on a shelf?? Thanks for any replies. ackotz
Give Fish-Lectronics a call. I know they sell/repair depth finders, trolling motors, etc. They are in Columbia Heights just south of I-694 on Central Ave....it's in a little strip mall on the west side of Central Ave...and good luck.[This message has been edited by ackotz (edited 12-27-2003).]
Dennis Steele
SOme one was having a similar problem with another sonar unit and I think it turned out that the tranducer got knocked around and damaged. It just needed to be replaced.
