0 PerchJerker
I don't know if you can turn off the automatic trail function. To delete a trail, go to the My Trails menu option, select a trail, then you can delete it.
0 jwhjr
I believe you need to uncheck the "Update Active Trail" option. I don't have my GPS handy at the moment, but I recall having the same issue.

0 schweady
Two options to try:To travel about without saving a trail at all:Hit Menu twice, My Trails... -> Options -> Uncheck 'Update Active Trail.'--or--To save a trail for later viewing, but keep it from showing on the screen for now:Hit Menu twice, My Trails... -> Scroll down to the active trail (the one with the arrow in the right column) -> Uncheck 'Visible.'A useful option is also available on this screen to selectively activate a previous trail started long ago and add on to it, even if you created other new trails since then.
