MinnKota 70 Extreme plug in questions

I just bought one of these used. It is a transom mount. Why are there 4 prongs on the plug?

How do I hook them up? A schematic would be nice.

This thing is a 24 volt. Does each pair of prongs go to and individual battery?

Can I convert this thing to 12 volt? I only have a little 16 foot aluminum with no floor. I know the trolling motor is was overkill, but I couldn't pass up the deal.

No converting to it. The board and armature are 24-volt.

This unit drew quite a few amps so the thought was to double up each wire, but only 1 red and 1 black are required. (That is how they are all now.)

Black to negative of battery #1, red to positive of battery #2, and a jumper wire from + of batt 1 to - of batt 2.
