Trolling plates

Thinking about getting a trolling plate for my 125merc instead of the kicker for trolling. Run a Crestliner 1750..anybody have any luck with trolling plates?..how well do they work?

They work well, except for the off-brands that don't have a sheer pin mechanism. Be sure to buy one that has the ability to purchase replacable sheer pins. Eventually, you will forget it's down and only pop the sheer pins rather than busting the whole thing off! Good luck
