I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago on clear, new ice.

Has anyone turned the camera up so you could look at what your ice hole looks like from below?

I've always been curious as to what may or may not spook a fish.

An example of what I'm interested in.

What does a hole look like with a lantern running in the shack compared to a small candle by the hole? What does a tipup hole look like with a standard tip up vs a tipup that covers the hole. Is the covered hole tipup black because the surrounding snow is light? would you be better off with a uncoverd hole if there is light snowcover? I think you get the jist of what I'm curious about.

I wish I had a camera of my own to try it out but I thought, why not ask the some FM'ers.
