justfishingaround
When starting Yamaha V Max with "flushing attachment" which is a permanently attached hose to the motor should water come out ONLY the cooling-water pilot hole?...Some is coming out other places too. PerchJerker
Most of the water (and exhaust) comes out through the prop hub (center of the prop). The pee hole is really just an indicator that your pump and impeller are working.
delmuts
i've have only delt with older motors, but! sometimes when you first start the water , you may get some coming out of the sides of the motor til it warms up and the alum. exspands and everything seals. then usually it comes out of the P hole and the exhaust. Musky_Madness
On my Optimax there is a built in "flush" near the P hole that you can hook your house straight to, but it's not meant for running your engine off of. Do you have something similar on the V-Max? If so, you have to get a pair of ear muffs otherwise you are doing the process backwards. Maybe this will help? LMITOUT
Yes, this flushing attachment isn't made for running the engine....just for flushing sediment out of the water system.
marine_man
As others have said, the flushing connection is NOT for running the engine - you'll still need earmuffs for that.marine_man
