Quetico
I'd give it a few weeks. With the cold and wet spring we're having it wont hurt to wait a few weeks.
LwnmwnMan2
On the label of Scotts it said 6-8 weeks. On the product I use, it says no sooner than 6 weeks.I'd say wait until Mid-June at the earliest.

hotrod1
Depends on the location...whether you are seeding a sunny or shaded area, Irrigated or non irrigated area.Bluegrass does best in sunny areas but doesn't do well in summer stress like heat and drought.Ryegrass is good but severe winters can hurt Ryegrass.Creeping red fescue does well in shaded areas.Hard fescues does not grow fast which means less mowing but slow recovery durring stress periods like high traffic. These are just a handfull of samples to choose from but depending on your location, you should be ok using a Bluegrass/creeping red fescue/Perrenial Ryegrass mix.I try to choose a bag of seed with minimal weed seed in it also. Quetico
The key in dealing with any chemicals is to follow the manufactures instructions. I too have seen the labels. Whether its Scotts or any other product follow the label. Pre-emergents kill seeds hence preventing them from emerging. Wait until that chemical washes thru the soil before putting down another seed for it to kill.
