DonBo
I have family in New Hampshire who claim they see moose all the time on a local WMA. Can a non-resident get a moose tag in NH?
Zimmer
I know you can apply for a moose tag through the lottery as a non-resident. I think there are roughly 600 to 700 permits issued a year. I would suggest applying for a tag in Maine. I grew up in Maine, now live in Minnesota, but try to get back there as much as possible to hunt. Maine has an excellent Moose population and issues more permits than NH. You might try both states since they are so close to each other. If you have family in NH it wouldn't be too far out of your way to hunt Maine. There are a lot of options. I would suggest checking out the Maine Dept of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife HSOforum and The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department HSOforum. Either way, its beautiful territory.Good Luck
DonBo
Thanks for the reply. I believe my niece lives more towards the western part of the state so Maine may not be my best option if I plan to stay at her house. Besides, she says they are within walking distance of her place. Nice huh? I have driven through Maine and northern NH so I know how beautiful it is.I will check with the F&G. Thanks!
Zimmer
Sounds good. I hope you get drawn. Next time you are out that way have a Stone Coast Micro Brew for me. Remember - shot ‘em near a road.
