That got me thinking that skipping might be a way to get on lake ice in the spring when it melts away from shore. blush Upper red here we come.

I'm not a fan of skipping, but it's not a bad skill to have if you frequently ride on a lake while fishing. I've unexpectedly ridden right next to open water and over thin ice. I had the ice break out behind me before. I've done some skipping up on Fish Lake near Duluth. It is surprising how well a sled skims the water. I'd like to see someone try it towing a portable. I'm not volunteering.
