Lunker
Well, in the last week the crappie bite has really picked up if you can find a spot that wasn't ruined by the 10ft rise in water levels. Not sure what this cold front will do.Fished a current seam/slack spot just off the main channel near Point a few times the past week. Almost all of these fish were released. Approx. 4-8 ft deep, rocky. Most of those kept were without spawn. About 90% caught were 9-12 inches.4-20Crappie Minnows and 1/16 ouch jigs or minnow/tube jig or rat-tail combo. Between a buddy and myself we caught approx. 25 crappies, 6 walleyes-all short, and 1 smallie. All in about 2 hours.4-21 Caught well over 100 crappies between 2 guys and myself. Most were caught on 1/16 white, pink, or orange jigs with crappie minnows or small green or red tube jigs and rat-tail type crappie baits. Also caught a few decent smallies and some small walleyes. Also caught a nice 22" walleye on a 4" ringworm.4-22Caught 30+ crappies, 1 small eye, 1 smallie. Same presentations.Water levels are headed back down(though now it's raining again). Dropped about 3-6 feet in the last couple of days depending on what dams you are between.
