muskiechaser
Has anyone ever fished on Canyon Lake or Wabigoon Lake? We're looking for someplace inexpensive to stay for a week, but still want decent fishing, walleye and muskie mostly, some northern thrown in for fun. We usually stay at Sharpe's Cliff Lake Lodge, but might be looking for something new. Any other ideas? Thanks, John
LMFlyin
Other option that might be something to consider is Pipestone Lake. My brother has a outpost cabin on that lake. Its a boat in lake where you have to take a mechanical portage into that lake. Fishing is exactly what your looking for you. Good sized muskie caught every year there. Has good muskies, walleye, lake trout, northern, and bass. Good sized body of water. I would check that option out as it could be something you would like along with your list on Canyon and Wabigoon? Bringing your own boat, rates run 50-60 dollars per person per night depending on how many people are in your group. Outfitter17
Hey Muskiechaser,I think you might like pipestone, the walleye fishing has gotten better and better and I have been there for 8 years now. I know you will love the excellent muskie fishing on the lake. It's like being on a fly-in and you don't need to fly, it's a 28 mile boat ride to the top of the lake and there is no road access. I can't help you out for the type of trip you are looking for, but check out gateway north at http://www.gatewaynorthoutfitters.net/Let me know if you have any questions about the lake
