Tim_Anderson
I started hunting turkeys almost 10 years ago in zone 348. I made some good contacts down there with landowners, so have always gone back.We have always enjoyed success. Sometimes it's easy, and sometimes it's really hard. I remember a year when it rained the whole time, and the toms were all henned up, out in the middle of the fields. It was our first year and we were inexperienced turkey hunters. We just couldn't seem to get near them. BUT, everything came together on the last day, and my son and I both called in and shot our first turkeys. The last time I was down there, I have never seen it so easy. I called 7 Toms into shooting range the first morning on three sets, and we were done. We spent the next couple of days playing with the turkeys (without guns of course), calling them, videotaping them, etc.Anyway, was wondering how the turkeys were behaving down there so far this year?My son and I, and a good friend will be hunting May 1-5, so we're looking for reports on the "turkey attitude", and what stage of the game they're in. Thanks for any info. I'll report when we get back.
