How well do the skis work on the shappell dx 3000 work? how do they mount on the shelter?

I'm assuming it still the same as mine, anyway mine is 4x8. (about 6 years old) my skis kind of flip out then you put a cotter type pin in another loop and that hold them in place, they work fine, I have been pretty easy on mine, they don't seem to be the most sturdy ever, but I can throw all my gear on it and tow it along fine, it floats over snow nice, and just fine on ice. They are always attached to the house, and fold right back up into the base when you putting the house back up. The cotter pins work fine, I thought they'd be more of a PITA but they actually work alright.

thanks mnrstrider, I have a new dx 3000 and the skis are a option add-on. I was wondering if they make a big difference pulling the unit thru snow covered ice. thanks again!
