Topozone is gone!

Went to Topozone (favorite topographical map site) the other night, and it is now part of trails.com -- maps available for a subscription. I went to another topo site, maptech, and it would not connect. Any other ideas for free online topo info? Searched google and everything seemed to point to topozone and maptech. Google maps would just give you some vague terrain. Are we done with free topo maps?

Oh great. That was a huge tool for me for hunting and fishing new areas and then putting coordinates in my GPS. I too am curious what else is available.

Do a search for MN DNR Landview. Either use the online version or you can also download the freeware. Also go to the links for instructions on how to use Landview. If you download the freeware, do a search for MN DNR Data Deli. Here you can download quad maps, and a myriad of other overlays and background maps.

Take the time and effort to get and learn the software and the overlay data. It definitely be worth your while.

While you are doing your search you will run across DNR Garmin. If you use a Garmin, download this program for track and waypoint uploading and downloading.
