I made it to the Gathering 2008 in Perham today. Boy some of the decoys I seen you would think they were alive! First decoy show I’ve ever been to. Lots of older collectables also. Finally met my dealer (Dick Capek) \:\) from MI. Boy did we do some talking! I actually think he could talk an ear off of an elephant. whistle.gif LOL. Met Duey from Duey’s Decoys. Chatted with a shirt tail relative from (Jerry) Fertile also. He had a table and a decoy in the competition. Chatted with Vern Gent who came up with the lighted decoy. Vern sold the lighted decoys to Ray and I think Ray will do great with his new venture. Met cheesy and he had some pictures from Fort Peck and they were awesome! Thanks for the compliments blush.gif cheesy about the Icesaw! All in all I had a good day visiting with new people and seeing the work some people can do. If you don’t have anything to do Sunday I’d recommend going to the show in Perham. Stop and chat with Dick being he drove all the way from MI to meet us Minnesotans! grin.gif

Sounds like a fun day. Thanks for the report Fish Toys.

How big is the Gatering? Any guestimiate on attendance? Just curious. I'll have to go some year. It's amazing the talent that people have when carving and painting decoys. Would be fun to see so much in one place.
