Figured it was time to pull a couple walleye fillets out from LOTW. Oh baby was that a good decision. Panko bread crumbs are quite simply amazing. Just rubbed the fillets with some flour, egg bath, then into the panko, then into the fry pan with some butter. Little bit of Old Bay and salt and pepper. Slice of garlic texas toast to go with it and a tall glass of sweet tea. Delicious.

Give it a try sometime and you will love it. No need for tartar or any other dip, just eat it as it comes out. If you are having trouble finding the Panko crumbs, look for them in the asian market area of your grocery store. They really take the cake.

You put yourself a little pile of fresh fiddlehead firns and some morel mushrooms next to that waleye and you've got yourself the MN State dinner

Not to hijack the thread! What months are best for finding morels?? I have always wanted to picks a bunch and never had the time.
