First ice

The wait is over and the report is in.
No good! We went out today on Rice Lake 3-5 in of very black clear ice, out on the pressure ridge on the west side of the big Island. I just want to say thanks Steve Hatcher for bringing the 4 wheeler and trailer. Kevin Erickson caught 1 pike about 3 lbs with a big cancer growth on top its head! eww looked like something out of Sci Fi movie. But we got out had some laughs (Especially about ugly people catchng ugly fish lmao) all and all we had a great time, and we also got to try out some of the new Ice busters 3.5 " bobbers the boys are sold on these they seem a little different in density of the foam which makes for a smaller float. I would like to thank Bruce Mosher from todaystackle.com for the chance to try these out today. I recommend them highly for they don't freeze up like the wood and are easy to use.
Well thats it for the first day of the 03-04 season and it was a blast!
Thats what its all about having a good time.
Oh well there will be next time and trust there will be.
again and again.
