jighead 3
can anyone tell me there thoughts on the lowrance x 510c fish locater? I'm thinking of buying one and would like to get some imput from the fish locater world. Pros and cons would help.
0 Superduty
Same unit as the 520 but without the gps ability. You can buy a 520 without the gps antenna for $50 less than the 510 and it can be upgraded to gps later if you wish. One of the better 5" color screen units out there. 0 harvey lee
The 510 is without any gps. The 522 is the combo. Only issue I have with the 522 is with bothe the sonar and gps on, the screen is a little small but I like the unit other than the screen size. 0 Superduty
The 510 is not gps capable. The 520 is gps capable. The two units share the exact same sonar features. Oddly, the gps capable 520(when purchased without the gps antenna option) can be purchased for less than the non gps capable 510. Lowrance probably did this to lure customers into buying the gps antenna option at a later date. If you are in the market for a 510, it is cheaper to buy a 520. You will get the exact same sonar unit but will have the option to add gps at some point if you choose. Hope this helps.
0 Superduty
The 522 is the internal gps antenna model. The 520 is the external gps antenna.
