Matty sure they do... If I can remember right, several guides kept on telling me about 4 major feeding periods... two at night two at day... sometimes the windows can be 2-3 hours long... sometimes 10-15 min long...

I just checked the tables, and we're in luck for midnight fishing. I fished with Tim Anderson (Big Fish Hunt guide service)and he taught me that aside from watching moon phases (full moon being the best); sunrise, moonset, moonrise, and sunset are potentially the better times to be on the water on any given day. If that holds true in 2008, we've got potential action with moonset occuring between midnight and 12:30am on opener!

Like Rebel said, those multiple feeding periods can vary from hours to minutes. Most often weather is the biggest dictator in feeding. However, if the weather remains stable, these windows can be dictated by the time span between the sun and moon rise/set. Look for mornings or evenings that they occur close together, and that is the time you should to be on the best spot with your favorite confidence bait! For example, it looks like sunset and moonrise happen within 20 minutes of each other the evenings of June 17th and 18th in most of Minnesota. That looks like a short window - but a potentially really good one.....in theory anyway \:\)
