vexl fl-8 transducer???

I would like to use my vex for summer fishing, can I get a different transducer or can i somehow use my ice ducer?

You can either get a high speed transducer, or use the one you have. I have both and have very poor accuracy with the high speed transducer on my boat. I use the winter transducer in my canoe and in my small boat. A bit of water in a pvc tube siliconed to the aluminum hull, it reads through very well. On my bigger boat, I use the transducer fascened with two pipe hanger style clamps. It works very well that way.

fisherking01, the transducer will shoot right through the aluminum of the boat, is that what your saying? just set transducer in some water inside a piece of pvc pipe and thats all you need to do? Thanks for the info

depends on how permanent you want it.. but yes that works... You may here ticking from the unit. Otherwise, you can buy a high speed tranceducer for your unit and permanently mount it on the back of your boat.
