Hey guys,

I know the high water will have everything messed up for a while...but in normal water levels where are some good spots within an hour or so of Eureka, MO?

Are there much for back waters north of St.Louis on the Mississippi? How about the Meremac?

I think there are some ponds...I think one is Busch and possibly the other is Weldon Springs....is it possible to launch a boat in these areas?

Mark Twain Lake is a lake I may take a close look at too.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply Barry. This info is actually for my brother in law. He is just getting into fishing and they recently moved to St. Louis from Springfield, IL.

I was trying to get him started on a couple decent fishing areas that he could build his confidence with. Isn't there a pond/lake in the Busch Wildlife area that has muskies? You have to rent one of their boats...you can't drop your own in?

Any info you wanted to provide on Mark Twain would be awesome! They live in Eureka, MO and i'm guessing Mark Twain is the closest big lake for him to fish. He would mainly be after crappies, bass, or cats. Feel free to shoot me an email if you [email protected]

Mitch
