Lake St Clair ice

Anybody know how it is this year? I might he heading there for Easter and wondered if I could get out on open water for some smallies. I read somewhere that ice is flowing down the river, but don't know if that is good for my purpose or not.

From what I have heard/read, the ice seems to be 9-12" thick everywhere, with some possible open water by the air force base. Not sure what it will be like in a couple weeks though.......
