Big Jeff
I am heading to Canada mid March for a first attempt at a laker. I am wondering what type of gear I need. I have some medium heavy ice rods but what kind of line do you guys like? I talked to my buddy who was out chasing them this week and he was using buck tail jigs and airplane jigs. I am not familiar with these lures to much. I have a few smaller northland tackle airplanes but I would like to add a few others that people have good success. He used cut sucker minnows do have other advice for bait? Thanks for any help and good luck on the ice.
fisherking01
search the forums for a lot of info from older posts. Laker tackle has been talked of extensively and techniques as well. There's a wealth of information already on this forum, all you need to do is check around, maybe someone remembers a topic or link for you. Tman2
I've found airplane jigs only good for feeding toothy critters. Lost everyone I tied on. A flasher is KEY!! 3", all white tube jigs on a 5/16" jig and hold on. Did I mention to have a flasher?
